Christa Davoll joined the OMED: Educational Services team in October 2022 as the Administrative Professional. They started their career by exploring a variety of fields inclusive of food service, working with animals, and retail. These early career experiences helped shape the soft skills Christa now utilizes daily to support students and staff alike.

In 2021, they decided to challenge themselves a bit more and enrolled at Atlanta’s very own TechBridge curated Technology Career Program, Data Analyst Cohort. During the intensive 16 week program, Christa obtained three industry recognized certifications: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, and Professional Scrum Master. They were also awarded the high honors of three-time Student of the Week and served as a keynote speaker at graduation.

Christa also utilized all the professional development resources TechBridge provided to ace the interview process at Georgia Tech’s College of Computing startup DataWorks as an entry level Data Wrangler. DataWorks recruits talent from underrepresented communities, including those with non-traditional technical backgrounds. Christa had spent months honing skills as a Data Wrangler when they earned a promotion to Project Coordinator. Christa led their team to successfully complete several impactful projects for non-profits and humanitarian organizations as well as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion training like Georgia Tech’s Safe Space training.

Through the experience at DataWorks, Christa realized they wanted to more directly serve the underrepresented minority students at Georgia Tech. They were elated to find the OMED position where they are now able connect with and provide aid and encouragement to students on a daily basis.
