These are the official criteria for receiving an OMED Tower Award:
PhD Award
- Must be a graduating PhD student (petitioned)
Master’s Award
- Must be a graduating Master’s student (petitioned)
- Must have a graduating GPA of 3.5 or greater
Graduating Senior Sustained Award
- Bronze 3.15-3.49, Silver 3.50-3.94, Gold 3.95+
- Must be a graduating senior (petitioned)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.15 or greater
Sustained Award
- Bronze 3.15-3.49, Silver 3.50-3.94, Gold 3.95+
- Must NOT be a graduating senior or first year student
- Cumulative GPA of 3.15 or greater
Yearly Award
- For students without a cumulative GPA of 3.15 or higher
- Must have matriculated in Spring 2019 or earlier
- Total Semester GPA hours of 2 of the previous 3 semesters (SPR/SUM/FALL 2022) must be greater than or equal to 24 hours
- Calculated (not averaged) GPA of the previous 3 semesters (SPR/SUM/FALL 2022) must be 3.15 or greater
*Co-op or Internship Program students who are registered with the Division of Professional Practice may be eligible for the Yearly Award
First Year Award
- Bronze 3.15-3.49, Silver 3.50-3.94, Gold 3.95+
- Freshman, Dual Degree, & Transfer students that matriculated in after Spring 2022
- Total Semester GPA hours must be greater than or equal to 12 hours
Important Notes
- Must be enrolled for Spring 2023 semester
- Must identify as African American, Hispanic, Native American, or Multi-Racial (with one of the aforementioned ethnic groups).
- Semester GPA hours do not include courses such as Pass/Fail, Withdrawn or Audited
- ALL criteria must be met in order to be Tower Award eligible
- Grade changes must be verified by formal transcript before Spring break
