On September 4, the 11th Annual Diversity Symposium, "Georgia Tech's Racial Diversity Journey: Recognizing Our Past, Acknowledging Our Present, and Charting Our Future," explored racial diversity, equity, and inclusion within the Georgia Tech community.
The morning featured three panel conversations with: Ford Greene, Ralph Long Jr., and Lawrence Williams, Georgia Tech's first African American students (who integrated the campus in September 1961) and first African American graduate, Ronald Yancey (EE 1965); Dorothy Yancy, Georgia Tech's first African American faculty member to gain tenure; and current Georgia Tech faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
