Sixth Annual Black History Month Lecture
“Millennials: Owning Your Place in the 21st Century”
In recent years, millennials have increased their political engagement. Today, they make up one of the largest voting blocs in the nation. When the 116th Congress convened for the first time in January 2019, more than two dozen were millennials, up from six in 2018.
Georgia Tech’s Sixth Annual Black History Month Lecture, “Millennials: Owning Your Place in the 21st Century,” features Andrew Gillum, former mayor of Tallahassee, Florida. Gillum will discuss voting controversies in the 2018 election, the impact of millennials on previous elections, and their potential impact on elections in 2020.
The lecture is free and open to the Georgia Tech community.
